Society for Public Health Education, SOPHE, is a professional organization for individuals who are involved in health education in a variety of settings: health departments, schools, universities, colleges, worksites, non-profit agencies, and health care settings. With both a national and state organization, SOPHE provides an opportunity for its members to foster and improve health education principles across the nation. SOPHE helps its members fulfill health education responsibilities and increase professional competence. Goals of Ohio SOPHE - Encourage high quality practice through professional development, continuing education, and training
- Promote the development of standards for the professional preparation and practice of health education
- Maintain the credibility and strength of Ohio SOPHE as a valid professional health education organization
- Influence health policies and programs in which there should be an identifiable health education component
- Stimulate research in health education programs and methods
- Impact on health education legislation

TWO SCHOLARSHIPS, TWO CATEGORIES: ACADEMIC - - Scholarship for undergraduate and graduate students in health education, public health and related programs. Students do not have to be a member of Ohio SOPHE. Go to the NEWS Section and read the scholarship process information.
