Geraldine (Geri) Rousculp, MA, MCHES

 Aside from a brief stint as a substitute teacher (from which she is still traumatized), Geri [pictured to the right] has spent her professional career with the Ohio Department of Health (ODH). “I sort of fell into public health, decided it was a perfect fit for me, and the rest is history,” wrote Geri. Her initial position with ODH was with the Immunization Program, followed by the Tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, Breast and Cervical Cancer, and Primary Care programs. According to Geri, each program provided a wonderful learning opportunity, as well as a chance to positively impact the health and well-being of Ohioans. 

Over her career, she has seen many changes not only at the ODH, but also in how community/public health education is practiced.

Join Buckeye Healthy Schools Alliance, American Heart Association and OSOPHE to Promote the Adoption of Health Education Standards in Ohio!

On November 16, 2011, over fifty participants from all over thestate  gathered at the Riffe Center in Columbus for Set the Standards: Health Education in Ohio.

 

After being briefed on the issue, participants had a chance to meet in groups with others from their district.  Then our teams of volunteers went to visit 31 legislative offices and to deliver written materials on the need for health education standards in Ohio.Thank you to everyone who joined us for this important day.

 

Continuing on the success of the November 16, 2011 Advocacy Day BHSA's Advocacy Committee has an important way you can help with the cause:
