OHIO SOPHE is dedicated to the development and continuing education of health educators throughout Ohio. Many opportunities are provided each year to offer knowledge and skill development for all health educators. A volunteer committee plans and implements many offerings each year for: individuals with CHES certification, health education generalist and those practicing health education. Offerings include: -Health Educators' Institute - annual conference providing 10-15 CHES and CEUs for other professions. -Four programs - held mainly in Columbus in conjunction with quarterly member meeting offering 2 CHES CEUs each. -One-day workshops as needs are determined. -"Health Education Principles" course for individuals working as a health educator, but do not have academic training. Ohio SOPHE is a CHES/MCHES credentialing provider. Requests for CHES/MCHES continuing education application information should be made to Carol Gill, CHES Coordinator at least 2 months in advance of the event. Carol can be reached at
