The Ohio Commission on Minority Health announces the availability of the Request for Proposals (RFP) for Minority Health Month 2015. The RFP outlining grant requirements and technical assistance information will be available on our website on June 16, 2014 at www.mih.ohio.gov or contact: Ohio Commission on Minority Health, 77 South High Street, 18th Floor, Columbus, OH 43215 * 614-466-4000. The deadline for submission is 5:00pm on July 28, 2014.

New Health Education Models & Research Released
Washington, DC - More than 730 health education and health promotion professionals convened at the Society for Public Health Education's (SOPHE's) 65th Annual Meeting in Baltimore, MD, from March 19 - 21 to exchange the latest research and practice in health education. Discovery 2014, drew the largest attendance in SOPHE's history, with participants from schools, health departments, hospitals, and other settings who attended more than 100 scientific presentations and roundtables and 150 poster presentations.Read more: SOPHE 2014 Annual Meeting Tops Attendance Records
Great quarterly meeting on Friday, March 14! Thanks to Cresha Auck Foley, Government Relations Director with the American Heart Association, who gave us a thought-provoking presentation on "Health Advocacy ¨C Getting Started" (photo below). Her presentation is attached below. Joining us for their first OSOPHE meeting last week with our speaker, Cresha Auck Foley (left) was graduate student Jordan Stokes with Professor (and past OSOPHE president) Amy Bernard, and undergrad students Ana Montalvan and Taylor Holsapple, all from Univ of Cincinnati.
