Utilizing Racial Equity Impact Assessments and Navigating Challenging Conversations to Support and Sustain Public Health Policy Change
Karima Samadi, MPH - Columbus Public Health
&
Maggie Simmons, BS - Former Senior Legislative Aide
Many of our public health programs, practices, policies, are rooted in systemic and institutional racism. One tool to evaluate/access racial (and health) equity is the Racial Equity Impact Assessment, or REIA. There are many tools available for public health professionals, which can help inform our actions and decisions to truly create policy, systems, and environment change. This session will also provide participants with tips, tools and skills they need to navigate conversations with decision makers of any level/sector to create sustainable policy change.
There will be the option to attend this meeting in-person, or virtual.
The in-person option will be held at Heart of Ohio
5000 E Main St. Columbus, OH, 43213
The virtual option will be through Zoom:
